Battle Academy Art Receives Funds from StereoType Thursday, November 13, 2008
CreativInc, an up and coming Chattanooga art group, recently made a visit to Battle Academy to donate a $1,000 check and $500 worth of art materials from Pearl Art Store of Atlanta to benefit the elementary school’s art department.
These funds were proceeds from the event “StereoType,” held at The Church on Rossville Avenue on October 24. The underground art party featured graffiti artists, photographers, and other artists from Chattanooga and Atlanta. Approximately 200 people attended the event, which featured a live graffiti mural-painting and atmospheric tunes from ToneHarm.
CreativInc founder Andrew Wright expects this event, and its successful fundraising, to be the first of many for Chattanooga. “We hope to have as much support from sponsors and Chattanoogans for our next event as we did with our first event,” he said.
